Last Minute Card {DIY}

Most of you already saw these pictures on Instagram or Facebook . For those of you who were wondering how they were made I thought I would share a quick post. They are actually really easy to make and the embellishments on the blank card and envelope took less them 10 MINUTES!  Here is what you will need:

{1} Blank Card and envelope. (if you are really crafty you can Make your card and Envelope from card stock. I bought mine from MICHAELS. They have a ton of color options.
{2} Martha Stewart Printmaking Silk Screens. (That's how I made the letters and Fish) These are my secret weapon, I use them from everything! She has a variety of packs, with many different themes. They can be used on any surface with any kind of paint, and they can be washed and used over and over again!
{3} Craft Paint and Washi Tape. Can be bought at any craft store.

Honestly I had no intentions of making this card, but every time I made the hour drive to town I forgot to buy one. Luckily, I have a pretty extensive craft collections, and I had all of these supplies at our house. Now that I know how easy it is, I might be making handmade cards more often!

Finally!!!

Finally it’s time! We can share with the world that we are expecting!  Well we may have procrastinated a bit, because in this picture I am 14 weeks pregnant. So here it is, our announcement! Hopefully this baby page is a place where we can share with you stories and pictures of us learning how to become parents. I think you might have a few good laughs if you stick around.

Really...

To post and not publish until this is real....

I'm still in disbelief; I never thought that test would say Pregnant!

I've never been the best secret keeper, writing a secret posts will be a great coping mechanism :-) Today is September 3rd and 10 days ago, I found out I was pregnant! Were we trying, you ask? Not really. In fact, I was so confident I wasn’t pregnant I didn’t even tell Mikie I was taking a pregnancy test, ooopps.  We thought we would really start trying this fall, but surprises are good right? Now we are expecting a little miracle the first week in May. Right now we are 2 days shy of 6 weeks, and our first doctor’s appointment is on September 10th (our two year anniversary).
So many emotions accompany this little surprise! After pure shock, and the ‘what have we done’ feeling went away, I felt truly blessed and excited! I quickly realized I need to give every piece of fear and anxiety up to the Lord and trust this is His plan for me. I know I will continually be battling these emotions and I know this will be a time that will grow me, change me, and  push me to become more like HIM. I’m excited and want to tell everyone! I will cautiously await the second trimester, and then I will publish this posts!

{DIY Fall Wreath}

I've not been very good at posting lately, with my Job switching to part time I'm excited to have more time for new projects and more posting! Here is the latest:

Ohh intsagram, how you make it so much easier to share my life with the rest of the world! Wish I would have used my 'nice' camera to take pictures of the process, but my phone is so much more convenient!

After searching Pinterest  for a few days I finally found an easy, affordable wreath idea for the fall. I used two differently tutorials to help me figure out the details of making the basic French styled burlap wreath. Then I added a fall ribbon to make it a bit more festive! The 'fall ribbon' is easy to remove, so I'm planning on using this wreath for many different seasons with different embellishments!

I bought all of my supplies from Michaels for under $25!

You will need:
2 rolls of Burlap Ribbon
Festive Ribbon
Scissors
Floral Wire
Wire Wreath (If you get a larger size wreath you will need more burlap)
You will also need at least 2 hours to complete the eniter project :-)

Here are the tutorials I used : 'The Sassy Momma' & 'My Crazy Good Life'

These blogs have a ton a details and measurements, I found them very helpful! Ok, now go have fun making your wreath!

{Debie Gras}

My Mom and Aunt Debbie came to visit! It was a whirlwind of a visit; they were here for eight short days. We have so much fun together; we jam packed those few days with some wonderful memories. Here are a few highlights from their trip.

Mikie and I worked hard to make the house presentable before they arrived. We finished our mudroom bench and coat hanger. (Below)

Here is Guest room #1, you don't want to see #2 becasue it makes us look like major hoarders!

Here is Mom and Aunt Debs at The Donner Museum. They are standing in front of a statue that shows how tall the snow was when the Donner party was stranded here. This is actually the site where they camped out, we are right outside of Tahoe.

Here they are in front of Donner Lake.

We finally made it to Lake Tahoe!

Here is the beginning of out Napa/ Sonoma trip. We went to Castella Di Amorosa .  We went on a tour of the Castel that ended with wine tasting. The tour was awesome, I highly recommend it! The wine...... not so great.

We had to stop as Korbel Winery. Apparently Korbel is 'our' family's favorite champagne.... (news to me) Korbel has both wine and champagne tasting. They also have a small gourmet restaurant where we had some lunch.
 Here we are at Bella Winery and Wine Cave. This is one of our favorite winery's in Healdsburg. My mom is actually a member of their wine club.
Here is aunt Debbie standing out form of the cave.

Every day in Sonoma, we had seriously the best picnic lunches! Gourmet cheese, meats, bread, and wine!

They wanted to see the Pacific Ocean, so we went to Bodega Bay.  The coast was 15 degrees colder then the valley.
 We found out the house where the horror movie "The Birds"  was filmed is in Bodega Bay.

We crammed so much into their trip. From the mountains of Tahoe to Napa Valley, all the way to the Pacific Coast. I hope they had fun! I know i did!
