Painted Burlap {Fall} Banner

I think painting burlap is my new favorite thing! Paint makes burlap, stiffer and so much easier to handle. This banner was super simple to make, here is what I did! 

I up-cycled an old happy birthday banner that I made last year, I grabbed some paint and a brush! I wanted the banner to look handcrafted so I didn't tape off my lines, I hand painted stripes judging by eye their distance apart.

I have experimented with a bunch of different ways to hang these flag banners, and by far hot glue is the best solution!

 
Here it is, it was great not to spend any extra money on this fall decoration. I will re-use it every year!

{DIY Fall Wreath}

I've not been very good at posting lately, with my Job switching to part time I'm excited to have more time for new projects and more posting! Here is the latest:

 

Ohh intsagram, how you make it so much easier to share my life with the rest of the world! Wish I would have used my 'nice' camera to take pictures of the process, but my phone is so much more convenient! 

After searching Pinterest  for a few days I finally found an easy, affordable wreath idea for the fall. I used two differently tutorials to help me figure out the details of making the basic French styled burlap wreath. Then I added a fall ribbon to make it a bit more festive! The 'fall ribbon' is easy to remove, so I'm planning on using this wreath for many different seasons with different embellishments! 

I bought all of my supplies from Michaels for under $25! 

You will need:
2 rolls of Burlap Ribbon
Festive Ribbon
Scissors
Floral Wire
Wire Wreath (If you get a larger size wreath you will need more burlap)
You will also need at least 2 hours to complete the eniter project :-)

My flights across the country Via iphone maps!

To live so far from my family calls for a few cross country flights a couple times a year. This fall I was able to be in Maryland for 3 weeks! An eventful three weeks that was! 

While I was in Maryland the weather went from this...

to this! As Hurricane Sandy made her appearance, it was an adventure to say the least!

While we were home we atteded weddings, survived hurricane Sandy,helped suport our family during an unexpected illness, and spent time with friends who are so important to us!

Here I am back in California. I'm excited to share with you our Thanksgiving and Chirstmas adventures!
